In order for this to work, the Board requests that you update or confirm your information on the assessment form.  Current telephone numbers, changes in ownership, any address changes, and email addresses are appreciated. There are instances where families own more than one property under different names.  The board needs to know the correct e-mail address to be used by the new website for communication to each homeowner.

About Pinehaven

PROTECTIVE COVENANTS & ORDINANCES: Pinehaven has Protective Covenants. Ordinances were added after the covenants were established to codify actions that might affect the health and safety of residents.
PINEHAVEN PLANNING BOARD:  The covenants established a board of seven property owners, the Pinehaven Planning Board. Directors serve for 4 years and are elected at the annual meeting.  The Chairperson of the Board is selected by the Board to serve two year terms.
ASSESSMENTS:  An HOA assessment is levied on every cabin and every empty lot each year.   This assessment pays expenses including road maintenance, general snow removal, dock maintenance, insurance, and newsletters.
NEWSLETTER: The Pinehaven Newsletter is distributed by mail bi-annually (May/June and October), and posted in the Mailbox Shelter.
DIRECTORY OF OWNERS:  The Board Secretary maintains a directory of owners, including phone number, email and addresses.  Please let the Secretary know of changes in your contact information.
ANNUAL MEETING:   The annual meeting is held each summer on the second Saturday in July at the Pinehaven Commons.  Look for the date and time in the May/June Newsletter.  The meeting is fun and informative.  It's a good way to meet new friends and catch-up with neighbors.  We hope to see you there.
MAILBOX SHELTER:  The mailbox shelter houses a limited number of mailboxes for Pinehaven owners.  The Board manages the Mailboxes.  If you want to add or remove a malbox for your cabin, please contact a Board member.  The shelter also contains our library/book and game exchange.  Come browse the selections.  It's free.
NEW CONSTRUCTION OR REMODELING:   A New Construction or Remodeling Submission Form must be submitted to and approved by the Pinehaven Planning Board before construction begins.  Forms are available on this site (here) or by contacting a Board member.
SALE OF PROPERTY:   The covenants require property owners to advise the Board Secretary when any lot is sold.  Within 30 days after the sale, owners should provide the name and address of the new owner, the date of sale and the block and lot number of the property sold.  Compliance with this requirements helps the Board maintain accurate records.

FIRES:  Fires are allowed in fire rings or pits only.  Fires are not allowed during times of severe fire danger.
PARKING: Park in designated parking areas.  If you have to park on the road, leave room for others to pass.  Parking on private property without the owner's permission is not allowed.
GARBAGE:  The Home Owner's Association does not pick up garbage.  Due to bear danger, please store trash inside or outside in a bear proof container.  Trash can be taken to the Fremont County landfill in Elk Creek for disposal.
WILDLIFE:  Harassment of or injury to wild animals is not allowed. Please do not feed wild animals.  Remember, even bird feeders attract bears.

NOISE:  Quiet hours are between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.  Please restrict use of motors, music or other loud activity during that time.
FIREARMS:  Shooting of firearms is not permitted in Pinehaven except during duck season. At that time, shotguns only may be fired along the riverfront.

WINTER CONCERNS:  Temperatures in Island Park can drop to 45 below zero in winter and might not get above single digits in the daytime.  Insufficient snow cover can expose external pipes causing the pipes to freeze.  Subzero temperatures can cause internal pipes to freeze.
Homeowners not using cabins during the winter months should properly drain and add anti-freeze to pipes, shut off the main water valve, turn off water heaters, and then drain lines before leaving in the fall.  To prevent damage to the water heater or heating coil, remember to turn off power to the water heater before emptying the water.  Area plumbers may be called for assistance.

During heavy snowfall years, snow that is not sliding needs to be removed from roof areas.
