Protective covenants
The provisions of the Protective Covenants protect property owners. The Covenants were first written and adopted in 1963 for the Pinehaven subdivision and were then adopted by the North Pinehaven subdivision in 1977. The original covenants have been amended several times. It takes a written petition of at least 20% of the property owners to propose a vote to change the Covenants and a majority of those voting to adopt the change. Each property owner gets one vote regardless of the number of properties owned. If a voter is a partial owner, he will have a proportionate fraction of one vote. (Protective Covenants are shown below or download them here.)
NOTE: Several years after the covenants were in place, it became necessary to add the Pinehaven Ordinances to codify actions that might affect the health and safety of residents. Ordinances are meant to help control and enhance our ability to live in harmony with each other and with the environs.
